How does the "winnability" score actually work?
It's a fit signal, not a guarantee. We pull the public record of who has actually won each federal program (from USASpending.gov) and score how closely your organization matches those past winners — by type, size, and focus. A high score means orgs like yours have won it before; it does not promise you'll win. Every input is real, public award data you can verify — we don't invent the number.
Where do my documents and data go? Do you sell it?
We never sell your data. When you use the AI drafting or autofill tools, the text you give us is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) to generate the draft — that's the only outside service it touches, and it's not used to train models. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is it okay to submit an AI-assisted grant application?
MCGrantz writes from your real facts in your voice, and it never fabricates. Treat it as a faster first draft, not autopilot: review it, fill in anything marked [INSERT], and submit it as your own work. Some funders ask about AI use — when in doubt, check the funder's guidelines. The application is still yours.
Does it guarantee I'll get funding?
No — and no honest tool can. What it does: helps you spend your time on grants you have a realistic shot at, and write a stronger application faster. Winning still depends on you, your organization, and the funder's decision.
How current is the grant data?
Federal opportunities are pulled live from Grants.gov, so they're current. Award history comes from public USASpending data. Private/corporate grants are curated and link to the funder's own page. Foundation (IRS 990) data reflects the most recent filings we've indexed. Always confirm the exact deadline and amount on the funder's page — we link straight to it and never invent a date.
Do I have to be a nonprofit?
No. Nonprofits can use the instant EIN report (it reads IRS 990 records, which exist for 501(c)(3)s only). Businesses skip the EIN and describe their organization to find private and corporate grants.
Can I get a grant as an individual — no business, no nonprofit?
Yes, and it's a real category: fellowships, project grants for artists and researchers, and emergency or hardship assistance that pays a person directly. Set Applicant type to Individual and skip the EIN. Be straight with yourself about the odds, though — there are far fewer grants for individuals than for organizations, so you'll see a shorter list than a nonprofit would. We'd rather show you a short honest list than pad it with business grants you can't actually receive.
What languages does it support?
The interface translates into 100+ languages so language is never a barrier to getting started. Grant applications themselves are drafted in English, since that's what U.S. funders require.
What's free, and what costs money?
Finding and scoring grants, browsing foundations, and tracking deadlines are free forever. The AI drafting and autofill tools are on the Pro ($79/mo) and Agency ($199/mo) plans. Both are also sold yearly — $790 and $1,990 — which works out to two months free.
Can I pay yearly instead of monthly?
Yes. Pro is $79/month or $790/year, and Agency is $199/month or $1,990/year — annual is priced at ten months, so you get two months free. Pick Yearly on the pricing toggle before you upgrade. Annual is one charge up front and renews once a year; you can switch plans or cancel from the billing portal at any time.
Is my data secure?
We use encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed passwords, and a managed database. We're a new product and not yet SOC 2 certified — if your organization requires that, tell us and we'll talk. You can export or delete your data anytime.
